Another day in my world

Ok, I have a new stressor. Not really a stressor, I just feel torn. Everyone is so adamant about breastfeeding. I think it's wonderful, I know it's good for the baby, I know it's highly recommended, and all the other stuff. I just don't think it's for me and herein lies my problem. The guilt I am feeling for not being a 100% I'm going to breastfeed person. I didn't with my first two, I smoked etc. and feared harming them by not doing something right and yet breastfeeding so I didn't. Now I haven't smoked in 6 1/2 years, and I keep telling myself I should really want to do this, I'm being selfish for not wanting to do it and all. And yet I can't convince myself that it's the route I want to take. Am I horrible? Ok, that was rhetorical (if you're going to be mean) I've met with a lactation consultant and we discussed how I feel about it and she said that choosing to bottle feed is ok, they have formulas now that are a very good remake of breastmilk. She said that lots of mothers don't choose to breastfeed, etc. so how come I still feel guilty.
Well I guess I still have around 14 weeks to stew over it......all things come in do time.

I want to blog, I really do

I've just been so stinking busy, that I can't seem to get the words on the screen!!!

My baby shower is this weekend!! Yeah, Tamara has planned it for me and I am excited to get to visit with everyone! Oh, and it's inevitable that you will receive DIAPERS at a shower!!! Considering the cost of gas and the cost of diapers, free diapers are very exciting!!!! She's made cute little bath salt party favors and is having a wonderful 3 tier cupcake cake made for the shower. And a lot of other planning party stuff has gone into it too. Adult conversation will be wonderful!! (even if it has alot to do with babies) If any of my friends that read this haven't gotten their invitation yet feel free to come and visit!! Diva said she'd come so we'll even have a comedian!! (no bra wars though, sorry.) My sister and her kids are coming in for the weekend -yay haven't seen them in ages!! and my SIL is also coming in, we've gotten a lot closer and I'm really glad.

Also Friday night we're having a youth sleepover at the church. I however do NOT have to stay the night!!! They took pity on the pregnant lady and said I can just come back in the am and help make breakfast!!(which I love to do) At first my youngest was upset that she didn't get to stay the night, she said "I AM TOO A YOUTH!" well explaining that she didn't meet the age requirement was getting me no where so I hopefully threw in that we got to go to the church at 7am to make breakfast!! You should have seen her happy dance!!!!

My dad will be back from CO and WY in a day or so, he's been gone hunting for a month. And he always gets the young one cowboy boots, the oldest not so interested. So anyhoo, he calls today for a size and then says "any particular color, they have some crazy colors!" and I reply "pink" he starts laughing and is like "are you serious? she'll want pink?" I said "dad, she wears her pink crocs with everything, has pink flipflops and tried all summer to wear her ballet shoes because, (yep you guessed it) they're pink" - He laughs again and says he was going to get black, but he'd go back and look for the right size in pink. She will be over-the-moon happy!! I can kiss getting any other shoe on her foot for as long as these fit her!!! And let me tell you this will cause her sister to be increasingly stressed from the embarrassment of me letting her little sister wear PINK cowboy boots with everything!!!!!!!!
Well it's time to go home so I will stop my babble session and try and resume tomorrow.

So much to talk about so little time........

TEST FOR DEMENTIA

Test for Dementia

It's that time of year to take our annual senior citizen test. Exercise of the brain is as important as exercise of the muscles. So, take the following test presented here and determine if you are losing it or are still "with it." The spaces below are so you don't see the answers until you have given your answer. OK, relax, clear your mind and... begin:

1. What do you put in a toaster?

Answer: "bread." If you said "toast," then give up now and go do something else. Try not to hurt yourself. If you said, " bread," go to Question 2.

2. Say "silk" five times. Now spell "silk." What do cows drink?

Answer: Cows drink water. If you said "milk," please do not attempt the next question. Your brain is obviously over stressed and may even overheat. It may be that you need to content yourself with reading something more appropriate such as Children's World. If you said "water" then proceed to question 3.

3. If a red house is made from red bricks and a blue house is made from blue bricks and a pink house is made from pink bricks and a black house is made from black bricks, what is a green house made from?

Answer: Greenhouses are made from glass. If you! said "green bricks," hat the devil are you still doing here reading these questions????? If you said "glass," then go on to Question 4.

4. It's twenty years ago, and a plane is flying at 20,000 feet over Germany (If you will recall, Germany at the time was politically divided into West Germany and East Germany.) Anyway, during the flight, TWO of the engines fail. The pilot, realizing that the last remaining engine is also failing, decides on a crash landing procedure. Unfortunately the engine fails before he has time and the plane fatally crashes smack in the middle of "no man's land" between East Germany and West Germany. Where would you bury the survivors? East Germany or West Germany or in "no man's land"?

Answer: You don't, of course, bury survivors. If you said ANYTHING else, you are a real dunce and you must NEVER try to rescue anyone from a plane crash. Your efforts would not be appreciated. If you said, "Don't bury the survivors", then proceed to the next question.

5. Without using a calculator - You are driving a bus fro m London to Milford Haven in Wales. In London, 17 people get on the bus. In Reading, six people get off the bus and nine people get on. In Swindon, two people get off and four get on. In Cardiff, 11 people get off and 16 people get on. In
Swansea, three people get off and five people get on In Carmathen, six people get off and three get on. You then arrive at Milford Haven. What was the name of the bus driver?

Answer: Oh, for crying out loud! Don't you remember your own name? It was YOU!!

Now pass this along to all your "smart friends" and hope they do better than you did. PS: 95% of people fail in most of the questions!!

Much ado about nothing. . . .

Well I have not posted since Monday, I have been way busy here at the office. Everyone is in a panic that the bankruptcy laws are changing soon. I had a lady call today that said she needed to talk to the attorney about bankruptcy, I said ok, I'll have him call you, her reply was "I need to do this asap, the bankruptcy laws are changing and there is a deadline" I thought NO SH-- lady, I would not have had any idea had you not so enlightened me. Thanks for the update. And you really gotta wonder how often people think before they speak. I have people call and get really catty with my and the whole while (that is if I don't hang up on them) I'm thinking "You know the only way the attorneys here are getting a message is if I give it to them, so you would think that you would realize that if you want your message passed along you'd be nicer to me!" People are stupid. SO MANY people are stupid.

Enough job rants, I guess, unless of course I remember some other stupid comment made comes to mind.
**************
This weekend should be fun. My SIL invited me and my daughters on a girls weekend at her sister's lake house. So it will be us three, my SIL and her daughter and her sister and her daughter. We are going to go outlet shopping (I am broke so will not be buying anything-which bites) and then if it is warm enough we will let the children swim and then just hang out. No men allowed. I can not wait, my niece has started walking since we saw them the first part of August and she is really little so it is inevitable that it will be the cutest thing ever!
******************
My 6 year olds bf is a boy, he is also my bf's son. They have went to school together since 3yr old preschool. I take them both to school in the mornings and drop them off. Well for those of you that do not know my child, it doesn't occur to her that she is not the center of the universe and a full blown diva she is! So anyway, she gets out of the car in the morning and either 'lets' him close the door for her or she demands that it is her turn and he is to wait on her. This morning she flipped when he turned and stepped away from the van, she thought he was going in without her!! BIG no-no! And the good little man he is he just waits on her. She hollers "JUSTIN" and he stops and waits, granted he does huff and roll his eyes, but he waits just the same. I've tried to curb this with her, and she isn't mean, she adores him, but I'm thinking she is going to be the biggest pain in the but to her future boyfriends if she already understands the ordering thing, and in turn he will be the sweetest boyfriend to someone!

*************
Well, I am ready to go home so ta for now. Have a wonderful evening!

Redo, redo

Ok, so on the redneck horoscopes I made a mistake - my oldest daughter and I are actually Collards.

Redneck Horoscopes

I took these from Aproka's. They are pretty funny.

Mr. Divinity:
BOLL WEEVIL (Feb 20 - March 20) You have an overwhelming curiosity. You're unsatisfied with the surface of things, and you feel the need to bore deep into the interior of everything. Needless to say, you are very intense and driven as if you had some inner hunger. You love to stay busy and tend to work too much. Nobody in their right mind is going to marry you, so don't worry about it.

Me & Daughter #1:
CATFISH (July 24 - Aug 23) Catfish are traditionalists in matters of the heart, although one's whiskers may cause problems for loved ones. You Catfish are never easy people to understand. You run fast. You work and play hard. Eventhough you prefer the muddy bottoms to the clear surface of life, you are liked by most. Above all else, Catfish should stay away from Moon Pies.

Daughter #2:
POSSUM (April 21 - May 21) When confronted with life's difficulties, possums have a marked tendency to withdraw and develop a don't-bother-me-about-it attitude. Sometimes you become so withdrawn, people actually think you're dead. This strategy is probably not psychologically healthy but seems to work for you. You are a rare breed. Most folks love to watch you work and play. You are a night person and mind your own business.

And this will be Baby Divinity:
OKRA (Dec 22 - Jan 20) Are tough on the outside but tender on the inside. Okras have tremendous influence. An older Okra can look back over his life and see the seeds of his influence everywhere. You can do something good each day if you try.

To live with this house full of critters, baby divinity will HAVE to be an Okra!!

I want to go outside and play!!!

Ok, so I''m really way to round in the waist to go outside and play, but I could sit in my yard swing and watch the girls play! That is if I wasn't stuck in the office for another 55 minutes.

Well I've hit the 6 month mark! Whooooo! People are still randomly telling my things like "Oh my gawd your huge!" Yep, strangers even! Oh well, I'm enjoying being pregnant and I've decided that since this will probably be my last pregnancy I don't care if people want to continue to be rude, I'm going to enjoy it!

The other day I was out under the carport going through totes of clothes getting rid of stuff and such and I went in for something and found my sweet (sometimes) husband had Comet on the sink, the bathroom sink, the tub, etc. and had cleaned the kitchen, loaded the dishwasher and was scrubbing stuff!! and he was doing so I didn't have to, he didn't even remember that being pregnant I'm not supposed to use the bleach stuff. He was just doing it for me not because he thought it wasn't going to get done. Awwwwwww!

I need to start jotting down notes of the things my kids say and do, because they are all the time saying things and I think, oohhhh I have to put that on the blog! Only to finally get to blog and not remember the story!! SUCKS losing you memory.

We have Girl Scout sign ups tonight, and it's my night to work it. Hopefully we'll have a good turn out and not waste our evening.

I watched Monster-in-Law last night, it was funny. Not as good as it could have been, but good. Boy Jane Fonda can through one heck-of-a fit. It kinda reminded me of where the relationship between me and my mother-in-law was and would've continued to go had she not passed away. (without the sappy ending of course - we would've been like the two that didn't quit) .

Well I have to go now. More later.

Whiney Wednesday

I really do not have anything to whine about today. I guess I could list the usual suspects, but I really do not feel like it. With everything that is going on with the aftermath of the hurricane, reading about people having troubles having babies, friends being called to active duty etc., I'm feeling pretty blessed and way to humble to whine today.

SOOOOOO, I will be frivolous in another way. I am so looking forward to fall/winter. Not only because I am hoping the cooling off and freezing will put a hold on my miseries of allergies and no nasal decongestants, but I am wanting the smells and the colors and the ooey gooey ness of it.

My daughter's best friend's bday is this weekend, so we have his party to go to on Saturday. Then Sunday I've been invited to spend money (that I do not have) at a Home & Garden Party. Then next weekend, my mom wants us to go to the State Fair in Tulsa with her, she said she'd pay for the kids' bracelets so I said I'd drive them there. Then the following weekend my bf is having a baby shower for me!! (I'm very excited) Then the weekend of the 1st I'll be going to my nephew's bday party in KC. and the weekend of the 15th we are planning a family outing to Silver Dollar City. Busy, Busy. Fun though. Then of course it's Halloween time. My youngest is already planning her Halloween costume, she is so torn on what she wants to be. She has been mulling this over for a month. lol. We will be going to a costume party for family night at our church. We usually let them trick or treat a little and then head over to the church. My oldest daughter (and yes I said daughter) wants to be a pirate - sword and all!! She cracks me up. That of course leads us into November which will start my 8th month!!! and November is getting ready for Thanksgiving and the school programs and all! I want to take the kids on the Christmas Train again this year in Dry Gulch. I think it starts the last weekend of November. Last year we got there late and had to leave early so this year I want to go on time and let them enjoy it. We usually go to the city for Thanksgiving, but with me only having 4 weeks left then I guess we will have to see what the Dr. says.

I have started my Christmas shopping. Granted I have only actually bought 3 gifts, but it is 3 less that I have to purchase now. I absolutely love Christmas shopping. Our girls recieve gifts on their birthdays and Christmas, we do not buy toys and such throughout the year. If they want something they have to save their birthday money or chore money. So come Christmas time I enjoy buying them things and in turn they enjoying recieving things and hopefully appreciate things more since they do not get things constantly throughout the year. And I have 4 nieces and 2 nephews that are all younger so it is fun getting to buy toys for them. Used to I would have my Christmas shopping done before Thanksgiving. Gradually it got to where I go shopping the day after Thanksgiving while in KC and finish up a week or so before Christmas. Either way I'm sure I spend to much. Last year, or maybe the year before our family and my bf's family sponsored a single mother w/4 kids, who worked and was a good mom and trying had, but didn't have much and we took her a bunch of gifts, my girls picked a couple of their presents each and then I bought some other stuff. I would really like to be able to do that again this year, but with the baby coming it's going to be a little tighter.

Red Eye is on at the movies and I really want to go see it. However, I really don't think I should see it with my daughters, so I guess I will wait til it is out on DVD and rent it. Yesterday I was going to watch Monster In Law and Katlynn said but mom I can't watch it, it's PG-13. I said K it's alright if you watch it with me and she acted like I was crazy for saying she could watch a PG-13 movie. Here's the funny part - she then took the remote and turned it to CSI, her favorite show. Now if you do not watch CSI I am pretty sure that it more than beats a PG-13 movie in content! And I probably shouldn't allow her to watch it, but she loves it and I guess it can be considered kind of educational. A little.

Well I have probably babbled on long enough, I have been writing this in spurts and should probably call it a day.

Have a wonderful evening.

Time is of the essence . . . .

Well not really, but it sounded intriguing! I am way swamped here at work and should by no means be taking the time to do this, but I am ready to throttle my boss so I figured maybe a quickie (kidding, just kidding) a quick release of pent up anger onto my ever so understanding blog would help. And if not well I might be looking for a new employer, due to my mouth overriding my brain everytime here lately and my snitty replies ooozing out.

I do not know if I have mentioned previously, but I work in a law office and we do a LOT of bankruptcy. Well since certain people who get paid entirely too much money to make really asinine decisions and put them into law have now decided to turn the bankruptcy laws upside down as of October 17 my job has become a real pain in the a--! Everyone has heard of these changes for months, but suddenly it is September and they have all realized that "hey, maybe I should go ahead and take bankruptcy now since later it might not be an option". Which is good for my boss because let me tell you it is not cheap to file, but sucks for me because guess who does the actual work?!?!?! If it takes you more than one guess you are soooo outta here!

***********************
Well it is now a couple of hours later than when I posted above and I am no closer to being caught up than I was then. But, hey there's always Tuesday!

I found this new drink it sounds pretty gross, but it is SOOOOOOOOOO good. We went to eat at this awesome burger place in Belton, MO a couple of weeks ago and the only none caffeine drink they had was SoBe Lean Cranberry Grapefruit so I tried it. I loved it. So since then I have been looking for it everywhere that carries the Sobe drinks, but to no avail. Finally, today I go to a convenience store on 4th street that I never go to and guess what - they had it!!!!! I bought 2 bottles, would've bought more, but they only had 2!! I also ran into a friend of my husband and I's that I haven't seen in ages, he lives in KS (only about 30minutes away) but we never see him anymore. So we visited and it was great!

My mom had to go have her Gallbladder removed this morning, apparently she went to the ER two nights ago in total pain and then went back last night and they said they were taking it out today. She was done with surgery by 10 am and it was the laproscopy(sp?) and they are sending her home tonight.

My boss just came in and I said "so we are closing early tonight right?" and he laughed and goes "Did I say that?" I said "yeah, since I've had a week with a crap load full of your crazy clients" and his reply was "boy I don't know with 10 bk's to do" and then laughs and says "we'll think about it" and I said "yeah you will think about it as you are on your way to take a nap" because he actually was on his way to lay down for a bit (I am so paying for a law degree!!!). So I was right he has a split personality, or maybe there's a mouse in his pocket. I asked him that one day cuz he is always saying we rather than I. You should have seen the look of confusion when I said "what you have a mouse in your pocket?" I had to explain and he laughed really hard.

Well I really must get busy on those files they will be screaming soon! Have a wonderful holiday weekend and fill those boots (the firemen on the street corners collecting for charity), or call those hotlines (not the sexlines the charity lines) or donate in someway to those in need.
Speaking of, a friend of ours is in the National Guard and his unit was called to active duty yesterday morning and he was supposed to be finding out where they were sending him. Last year he had just gotten back from Afghanistan after being there quite awhile. He's been in the guard for years and never called to duty more than to deal with the flooding in Miami and in the past couple of years he's been called active to major places three times. Well anyway keep him in your prayers, please.
