What a week (ok over a week) this has been!!!!!

Well I haven't posted since Friday before last so I will start there I guess......

On Saturday we had dance recital! WHoo Hoo!! Dance recital equals no dance for the summer!! I cannot tell you how happy this makes me! With graduation over, dance over and girl scouts over all I have to worry about for 2 and a half months is softball!!(and my dad handles more than half of that!!) Anyway, dance recital went well, no one broke anything!! at the first of the season the dance instructor brings out these plastic wash tubs and starts showing the girls how they will be props for their dance. Nati's mom leans over and says "Wanna take bets on which one of our kids is going to fall first on stage?" we were laughing so hard some of the other parents gave us that don't they know how to be quiet look! It may sound terrible, but between Kiersten and Nati the clutz factor is way over the top!! Those two definitely need dance to improve their coordination! It did, however, turn out wonderful. The girls did really well until the final steps of their dance involving the tub wherein they were to plop into it as the finish when Nati hits the edge of her tub and it shoots out behind her a couple of feet and she landed with a plop on the stage! The look on her face was as they say "priceless"! I hope someone was taping that with a close up, she'll love it when she's older! And as I witness this I could here her mom asking about taking bets! lol
Ok, long dance story, now on to the rest of the week.
################
Sunday was pretty uneventful.
##################
Monday, my dad calls to tell me that the Dr. had called him with his lab results (he had 1/2 his thyroid removed due to a mass) and that it was thyroid cancer and they would be removing the rest of his thyroid on Wednesday. What a way to start the week!
###################
On Tuesday I awoke to a wretched thunderstorm. Everything was going pretty normal until I get on the turnpike to go to work. Right after the overpass that is just before Buffalo Run, I hit a huge amount of standing water and hydroplane, crossing over the entire lane almost to the grass, I think I have it just about under control when low and behold we (both girls were with me) start to spin, and I mean full blown car was spinning in complete circles! Then I turn to the girls and say hold on tight - WHAM - we hit the concrete median with the rear passenger side of the car. Talk about a jolt, I hit my head so hard on the window that I could make out details on the stars I was seeing.
It was horrible, the first (knock on wood) wreck I have been in that I was actually driving! Thankfully, (there is no question God took over and protected us that morning) the girls were a little shook up, Katlynn had a pretty good scratch from the seat belt on her collar bone and Kiersten had some nasty bruises on her inner elbows (I can't even begin to figure out how she got bruises there!) My I had a nice headache and my left side was sooooooooooooo sore for several days. But other than that we are all good. And the baby is fine, strong heartbeat etc.
My car however wasn't so lucky. It's totaled. The rear passenger wheel came completely off, the rear axle is bent into an awkward position, the trunk well the lid doesn't quite match up with rear to close, the rear passenger door is trashed and so forth. But it gets better, my husband goes to our insurance co. The next day to pay them early for June and to tell them about the wreck, the lady says, "there was some mishap with your May payment and your policy was cancelled!" My husband oddly enough stayed calm and asked why we weren't notified, only to be told she didn't know.
I have to say neither one of us really cares. No one was hurt badly, I didn't hit any other vehicles, and so we eat the medical bills and figure out how to get a new vehicle. I'm thinking we got off way lucky. The paramedic's and the Dr. (and my ob) seemed to think for that wreck with that impact it was amazing we weren't hurt badly.
The rest of the kicker is I got a TICKET! Yeah, a ticket, he said that even though I was only going 60 - 65 he was giving me at ticket for improper driving with respect to weather conditions. I can't even make myself find out what that will cost and do to our insurance premiums. Just before he tells me this I am being wheeled back into the trauma cubicle where the girls are to hear my 5 year old tell him (the highway patrolman) that she had forgot to fasten her seatbelt! The doctor heard this and leaned over me and said, "hon, if she hadn't been buckled we'd be treating her for all kinds of injuries."
We are very thankful.
#####################
On Wednesday I had to go to Grove to see my dad before surgery (his 2nd in a week) and then be in Miami by 3 for my 1st OB appointment. Well Dr. did an ultrasound and baby is good. Strong heartbeat, etc. measuring approx. 9 weeks. Which is 6 weeks off what they had said using my last period! So my due date was officially changed to January 2nd 2006. Weird saying 2006, huh! I was a little freaked out, thinking only 9 weeks and I already have that pooch in my lower stomach (yeah those 8's are so gone and the 10's are too snug unless they are low rise) and I was told that since it's my 3rd child of course I would show earlier, women tend to, they say. So even if -they- are full of horse---- I'm going with it!!! lol
I do however plan to be much more careful this time around!! This time I cannot gain my customary 60lbs.
##################
Thursday and Friday were wonderfully dull.
Saturday the girls and I went grocery shopping, then to the pool for opening day. I sat with my feet in the water for a while and then found a chair. That water was too cold. What is it with kids and swimming in water that is -30 degrees!!! They had a ball anyway, then we went to tamara's for her most wonderful chicken enchiladas, I'm tellin' you these are the best!! While there us adults watched Aviator. It was a good movie, a lot better than I thought it would be. However, the end hacked me off. It wasn't bad, just not how I thought they should have ended it. Oh well, guess I should write screen plays and then I could end them how I wanted! I just hate to watch a 5 hour (ok not really, but it seemed like it) movie and have the ending not coincide with what or how I think it should end.
##############
I know I still have Sunday and Monday, but I will bore you know longer.
Does anyone like Michael Creighton (sp?) I just finished his new book, State of Fear. I didn't like it nearly as well as his others I have read. It was good though, just technical.
################
Have a wonderful day! The week looks good since there are only 4 working days!!! I really want a job that doesn't require me to work on Fridays!!!

painting waves as they danced upon the sand . . . .

I think that is such a good line, guess what it's from? Another hint, "where in this picture would you like to be. . .".

I have recently discovered, ok not recently discovered more like recently admitted, that I really am into that romantic crap! Problem arises when you consider that I have been married for 10 years to the MOST unromantic man you could meet. (His idea of romance is "wanna get naked?") So how in the world am I ever going to get that sickening romantic stuff? And yes, I've watched soaps, but that's not the route I want to take. Next issue, if he were to suddenly realize his romantic potential and lay it on, would I be shocked into laughter? Therefore totally screwing it up!!!
Anyway, I guess I should just quite listening to country music and watching those darn videos! lol

And it could just be the hormones!! Yeah, that's what I'll blame it on.

######################
So I think I am starting week 15 of the p word. I go on the 25th for the first ultrasound and checkup. I actually called for an appointment the last week of April, but the earliest they could get me in was the 25th soooooo. . . .
I'm not having the morning (off and on all day) sickness, headaches, etc. like I did for a few weeks. My allergies however, are trying to kill me. I started on Zyrtec-D and it has done wonders, but I still don't feel like I can breathe right most of the time. The other advice was to stay indoors as much as possible! Can you imagine! I have two kids, one of which plays softball, so that just isn't going to happen!! O'well, that's life I guess.
I am so excited to finally be going in and maybe, just maybe, the Dr. can tell whether it's a boy or girl. It would kind of be fun not to know, but my husband and extended family would drive me crazy!
#######################
Tonight I am taking the girls to the 'Disco' at their school, it's a end of the year thing, should be fun. Last time we had one, I wore snakeskin sequenced pants, 4 inch clogs and 'hooker' makeup!! Not this time! Then tomorrow it's dance recital and then off to the Monster Truck Races! Yeah, I'm apparently part redneck too! My 6 year old that doesn't like loud noises (can't handle being in the bathroom with the door shut if the hairdryer is on, says it's too loud!) has been hollering to go see "those tractors pull the smashed cars!" all week so I had hubby buy tickets yesterday. This morning that same child that really wants to go looks up at me and says, "momma, you need to find me some earplugs before the monster truck thing!"
Well I have lots more I was going to type, but I worked instead! I got a lot of work off my desk, but still have loads more come Monday! (job security right?!)

I Think the World Needs a Drink!!!

Ok, maybe not everyone needs a drink, but the song was on and it sounded good, so. . . .

Well things are getting crazy, summer starting and all. Katlynn (including thursday night's game that starts at 9pm *insanity*) has had 3 games this week. Kiersten's had dance practice and her Graduation is tomorrow night. Chloe's dance recital is friday night. My grad is Saturday and then we are going to MO to see family til Sunday!

I am so beyond ready for a lazy summer! We got my swing out last weekend and the girls cleaned it for me! It was priceless watching them out there with sponges, soap and the hose. They got along for over an hour!!! I plan on making hubby put the pool up earlier than last year.

I think that we have decided to add on a bedroom and maybe a small den rather than buy a new house for now. I would really like to save enough of a down payment to just build what we want. I've spent months looking only to be continually disappointed.

I'm in limbo with career things right now. Since finding out about the impending addition to our family puts a form of a halt on job seeking for a while. I had planned on taking the merit exam fairly soon, but I hate to do that and then go in for interviews only to not get it. But I also would like to get the test taken and out of the way. I guess I'll decide soon.

Well I have a pile of work waiting for me so I guess I should sign off for now.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!!!

Lawyer jokes, almost as bad as blond jokes, but usually funnier!!!

This was sent to me by my friend April - see not stealing!!!- and it was so funny I had to share:

Why Lawyers should never ask a witness a question if they aren't prepared for the answer:
In a trial, a Southern, small-town prosecuting attorney called his first witness to the stand; an older, grandmotherly woman. He approached her and asked..."Mrs. Jones, do you know me?"

She responded, "Why, yes I do know you, Mr. Williams. I've know you since you were a young boy, and frankly, you've been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a big shot when you haven't the brains to realize you never will amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you."

The Lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, "Mrs. Jones...do you know the defense attorney? She again replied, "Why yes, I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he was a youngster, too. He's lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can't build a normal relationship with anyone and his law practice is one of the worst in the state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women, one of which was your wife. Yes, I know him." The defense attorney almost fainted.

The judge asked both stunned counselors to approach the bench, and in a very quiet voice, said, "If either of you bastards asks her if she knows me, I'll throw your sorry asses in jail for contempt.

Happy Mother's Day (ok so it's a day late!)

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day. Mine was nice. We went to church and then drove to Joplin to meet my aunt, nanny, dad, etc. for lunch at the Rib Crib. We had to wait almost an hour, but oddly enough it wasn't a bad wait (even with 2 kids) we were able to have a nice visit while waiting. And dinner was good. After dinner we went to Lowe's - just me, hubby, and kids - and got a shrub and tomato plants for nanny and shrubs and tomato plants for our yard. Went home and I piddled around the house while hubby and kids planted stuff in the yard, then I took my history final (WHICH I PASSED WITH A SOLID B!!!), then I cleaned and we rearranged the living room to put the new tv in there. All in all it was a wonderfully productive day!!
######################
Today we have (ok, just the short kid, not actually me) dance then Katlynn has a softball game at 7:30pm. Late evening games during the week drive me crazy! It's not so bad once school is out, but when school is still in it makes it hard to get baths and such and then the mornings are usually full of whining and such!! Oh well, only 8 more days of school for the kiddies!! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TWO count 'em - TWO finals left and then I am DONE!!!! I am a very happy individual!!!
I have GRADUATION practice tomorrow afternoon - this is in hopes that we won't trip on stage I guess! Then Thursday night is Kiersten's graduation and Friday night is Chloe's dance recital and of course (this as always is for the Diva) my graduation is on Saturday morning!!!!! {I picked up my cap and gown today!! If you can imagine I forgot to last week!!! oops!} Then I guess we are going to go to KC for the night so that we can attend my husband's uncle's 70th (?not sure on the age) bday party. And the week starts again!!! Ok I probably should not have detailed my week like that because now I am a little shook about how busy this week is going to be!!!
######################
Now on to other things...........
Having to wait until the 25th of May to go to my first DR. appointment may drive me a little crazy!!! So any baby name ideas, or should I just listen to the redneck and call her diva !And I say her loosely since we really don't know the sex yet.
I just noticed earlier when I was thinking about the baby in my thoughts I was referring to it as 'her', maybe that's just habit since I have two girls already.
I have also noticed that I seem to be growing increasingly hostile!! A couple of times I have caught myself, when listening to clients, wanting to yell at them or throw something to make them SHUT UP! I have as of yet been able to control this urge, I don't know what I'll do if it gets very much worse!?!?! Will I be able to hold my tongue!!! My boss just laughs at me!
[for those of you who do not know me, a clue as to my temperment is that I have red hair, now for the most part I am a very calm and patient person that holds my temper in complete check, I feel I am losing this control]
###################
Well I have probably babbled on enough for now, so I am going to get back to work. Everyone have a wonderful day!

Contemplating life's little wonders . . . . . . . . . . .

I'm going to post in patches today, because I can't seem to spend any set amount of time posting here lately. It seems as though I get started only to be intermittently interrupted and then I just do not seem to get anything posted!

I have an announcement (clearing my throat here) "I just found out I will be having baby #3 in November!!!" We are soooooooooooo excited.
We told the girls Friday after doing the test and our oldest was/is elated! She was beaming, and then looks scared all of the sudden and says, (and I quote) "Mom, what if it's a GIRL?!?!?!" I was like well then it's a girl. She didn't think I was funny. She replied, [while pointing across the room at her sister] "What if it acts like - - HER!?!?!" By this time I was laughing to hard to answer, because she was completely serious!!
Then our six year old's reaction was so great! She says, "Are you serious? Are you serious?" like 5 times and I replied "yes, I'm serious." She's quiet about it for a while and then looks at me very seriously and says, "Mom you do know that they cry ALOT right?" I almost peed my pants I was laughing so hard!!!
All in all I think they've reacted quite well. And of course one wants a brother and the other wants a sister!! {will they ever agree on anything?}
Even better than their reaction was my grandmother's! She dies laughing when Katlynn tells her, looks at me and in between laughing says, "May I ask why?".
Ok, by this point I'm thinking maybe I should wait to tell anyone else!!! Of course, a few minutes into the conversation she says something about me having a baby at 40 and I was like, "Nan, I'm only 31!!!" So it was a little better.
Anyway, I had better get busy. Hopefully I can post again in a bit.
